Commercial and industrial roofing in Barnsley

Metal roofing and cladding

Roofline installs and repairs metal roofing and wall cladding on commercial and industrial buildings across Barnsley. Built-up systems, composite panels, standing seam and profiled sheet, with the flashings, fixings and edge details that decide how long a metal roof actually lasts.

What we do

Metal roofs live or die at the details

A profiled steel sheet will last decades. What fails is everything around it: fixings that back out, sealant laps that open, cut edges that corrode, flashings that were made too short. Roofline fits metal roofing and cladding to the manufacturer's method and the industry guidance, and we repair the details on existing roofs before they turn into sheet replacement.

  • Built-up (twin skin) roof and wall systems: liner, spacer, insulation, outer sheet
  • Composite (sandwich) panels
  • Standing seam and secret-fix roofing
  • Profiled steel and aluminium sheeting
  • Wall cladding, over-cladding and re-cladding
  • Flashings, ridges, eaves, gutters and closures
  • Fixing replacement, lap resealing and sheet repairs
  • Cut-edge corrosion treatment

Options

Systems we install

Built-up systems

Two sheets with insulation between, on a spacer system. The workhorse of industrial roofing. Flexible on thickness of insulation and on profile.

Composite panels

Factory-bonded insulated panels, fast to fit, with a clean finish inside and out. Good for food, pharmaceutical and clean environments.

Standing seam

Long sheets with concealed clips and no through fixings on the weathering surface. The premium choice for low pitches and architectural work.

Wall cladding

Horizontal and vertical profiled and composite wall systems, re-cladding of tired elevations and new cladding on extensions.

How it works

From first call to finished roof

  1. Book the survey

Call or use the form. Tell us the building type, the size if you know it and what has prompted the call.

  2. We survey the roof

Access arranged with the site, roof covering, fixings, gutters, rooflights and details inspected and photographed. Drone survey where access is difficult.

  3. Written condition report

Photographs, a plain-language description of what we found, and options ranked from make-safe to full replacement, each priced.

  4. Programme around the business

Work is scheduled to keep the premises operating. Phased areas, out-of-hours or weekend working where the site needs it.

Standards and guidance

We work to the industry body's published guidance.

  • MCRMA (Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association) technical guidance
  • Manufacturer's fixing schedules and wind load calculations
  • Approved Document L for insulated systems
  • Work at Height Regulations 2005 including fragile rooflight controls
  • BS EN 12056-3 gutter capacity on renewed rainwater goods
Straight answers

Questions we are asked about metal roofing and cladding

Can you repair a metal roof rather than replace it?

Very often. Loose fixings, failed lap sealants, corroded cut edges and damaged flashings are all repairable, and a metal roof that is repaired and coated at the right time can gain 15 to 25 years. We will tell you when a roof has gone past that point and replacement is the honest answer.

What is the difference between built-up and composite?

A built-up system is assembled on the roof from separate liner, insulation and outer sheets, which gives flexibility on insulation thickness and profile. A composite panel arrives from the factory as one insulated unit, fits faster and gives a clean internal finish. Cost is similar; the choice depends on the building and the programme.

Do you do wall cladding as well as roofs?

Yes. Re-cladding a tired elevation transforms how a unit looks and lets, and it is usually done alongside the roof so the details at the eaves and corners are handled once.

Next step

Book a site survey

A survey and written condition report is the starting point for every commercial job. It tells you what you have, what it needs and what it will cost, so you can plan and budget properly.

Working around your business

We plan the work so the premises stay operational: phased areas, sealed off zones, dust and noise controlled, and out-of-hours or weekend working where the site needs it.

Book a site survey

Tell us about the building and we will arrange a survey at a time that suits the site.

We will call or message you back on the number you give. Prefer to talk now? Call 07961 754890. Your details are used only to answer your enquiry (see our privacy notice).
