Guttering in Barnsley
Roofline repairs, replaces and clears gutters across Barnsley. Leaking joints, sagging runs, blocked downpipes and full new systems in uPVC, aluminium or cast iron, set to the right fall so rainwater gets away from your walls.

Gutters that actually take the water away
Gutters are the cheapest part of a roof and cause a disproportionate share of the damage. A dripping joint over a few winters saturates the brickwork, rots the fascia, and ends up as damp inside. Most of it is avoidable.
We repair what can be repaired, replacing individual joints, brackets and sections where the profile still matches, and we replace whole systems where the plastic has gone brittle or the falls were never right. Every run is set to fall towards the outlet and every downpipe is checked to the drain.
- Leaking joints, unions and stop ends
- Sagging gutters and broken brackets
- Blocked downpipes, hoppers and gullies
- Full replacement in uPVC half-round, square or deep-flow
- Aluminium and cast iron for period properties
- Gutter clearing and moss removal from the roof
- Gutter guards where trees are a problem

Every job is photographed before and after so you can see exactly what was done.
Signs your gutters need looking at
Best spotted during heavy rain. If you cannot get out, a photo from a window is a good start.
- Water overflowing the front edge in heavy rain
- Green staining or algae on the wall below
- Damp patches at the bottom of an outside wall
- Plants and grass growing in the gutter
- Gutters visibly sagging between brackets
- Drips at a joint long after the rain has stopped
- Peeling paint or rot on the fascia board
- A downpipe that gurgles or discharges at the joints
- Splashing at ground level undermining the path
Guttering: your questions
How often should gutters be cleared?
Once a year for most Barnsley houses, twice if you have trees nearby or a north-facing roof that grows moss. Autumn, after the leaves have dropped, is the best time. We can clear gutters as a one-off or while we are up for other work.
Can you replace just one section of gutter?
Yes, as long as the profile is still made. Half-round and square uPVC profiles are widely available. Some older or unusual profiles are not, and in that case we will show you the options rather than force a mismatched joint that will leak.
Do you fit gutters with new fascias and soffits?
Very often, since it makes sense to do the whole roofline in one visit with one scaffold or tower. See our fascias and soffits page for the full roofline package.
